The colourful, controversial world of Wim Delvoye

At the Museum of Old and New Art in Tasmania, the work of controversial Belgian artist Wim Delvoye is being exhibited. His output begs the question - just what is art in today's world? It may not be beautiful, or even palatable. But one thing's for sure, it gets people talking.

So, what essentially happens is that food goes into one end of the machine. The acids that combine to break down the food in our digestive systems are replicated in the jars of the machine, processing and 'digesting' the food and turning it into...well, feces, at the end of the process. And boy, does it stink to the high heavens, This is NOT for the faint of heart, or those with delicate olfactory senses.
