DBS invests $10 million to create a ‘People’s Bay’

DBS Bank said Wednesday it plans to invest $10 million over the next three years to enable people from all walks of life to enjoy the Marina Bay. The lender will be partnering with the Singapore Sailing Federation to let people experience sailing at Marina Bay free of charge on a regular basis. Besides the sailing programme, the $10 million will also be spent on a regatta, a run for kids, as well as support for various social enterprises in an effort to turn the marina into a "People's Bay".

The sailing programme is offered on the last Saturday of every month from April to November at the Pontoon near the Marina Bay City Gallery.  It is open to the public on a first come first served basis. There will be seven sessions a day, each 30 minutes, from 2pm to 6pm on eight sailboats. Just log on to the DBS Marina Bay Sailing website from Thursday to sign up for the free sailing experience.
