Zynga names Best Buy executive David Lee as CFO

Zynga appoints David Lee as its chief financial officer to succeed Mark Vranesh

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Zynga Inc., the maker of Farmville and other digital games, said Thursday that it has named a chief financial officer.

The San Francisco-based company said David Lee will take over as its chief financial officer and chief accounting officer on Monday. He succeeds Mark Vranesh, who has been with the company for the past six years.

Zynga did not give a reason Thursday for Vranesh's departure but said he has helped with the search for his replacement since 2013. Vranesh will work with Lee over the next month as part of a transition.

Lee, 42, worked most recently as senior vice president of enterprise finance for Best Buy Co. Inc.

Shares of Zynga fell nearly 7 percent to close at $4.07 Thursday amid a broader market selloff.
