Smaller iPad seen for October

Pacific Crest raised its Apple (AAPL) price target, assuming a rumored iPad mini in Oct. to rival tablets by Google (GOOG) and Amazon (AMZN). It's apt to sport a 7.85-inch display vs. today's 9.7-inch iPad, analysts said. An 8-gigabyte model would likely cost $299 vs. $399 for the older iPad 2, which Pacific Crest thinks will be discontinued. Apple rose 2.6%.
