Sinopec processes Malaysian Bunga Orkid crude oil for first time
BEIJING, March 3 (Reuters) - China's Sinopec Corp this week processed for the first time a light Malaysian crude at a unit refinery, the company newspaper reported on Thursday, as the company seeks to boost diesel fuel, gasoline and lubricants output.
Sinopec's Maoming refinery in southern province of Guangdong took in Bunga Orkid, a light paraffinic grade jointly produced by Petronas and PetroVietnam.
The crude has a high yield of aviation fuel, military diesel and base oil for lubricants, said the paper.
The 400,000 barrels-per-day refinery blended Bunga Orkid with other heavier grades for processing, it added. (Reporting by Meng Meng and Aizhu Chen; Editing by Christian Schmollinger)
