The Singapore Pavilion (pictured) has won the Silver Award for Theme Development at the Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea (Yeosu Expo), beating 24 participating countries for the category.
The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) organised the Yeosu Expo, which was attended by 104 pavilions.
Theme development and creative display served as the basis for the ranking of various pavilions.
Eight judges, each an expert in the field of architecture, world expositions, exhibitions and museum design, comprised the judging panel.
The Singapore Pavilion's theme "Paradox-ity: City of Contrast" is inspired by the city-state's creative contrasts and conveys how the country balances growth and development with environmental sustainability.
