Singapore Airlines' passenger volume slips 1.2% in November

Singapore Airlines' passenger volume slips 1.2% in November

Due to weak demand from South West Pacific.

Singapore Airlines ferried 1.52 million passengers last month, down 1.2% on a year-on-year basis.

The drop was mainly due to an 8.1% reduction in demand from South West Pacific, which has been affected by material increases in industry capacity.

Overall passenger carriage fell 1.4% from last year, compared to 1.0% growth in capacity. PLF edged up for both East Asia, and West Asia and Africa, but declined for all other regions.

Meanwhile, cargo load factor (CLF) remained unchanged at 66.4% as the increase in cargo traffic (measured in freight tonne-kilometres) matched capacity expansion of 3.3%. East Asia was the only route region which registered an improvement in CLF as demand outstripped the increase in capacity.
