Singapore Airlines joins other carriers in Samsung Galaxy Note 7 ban

Passengers are prohibited from charging and using the phone.

Singapore Airlines advised its passengers that using or charging their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile on flight is strictly not allowed following the recall of the fire-prone smart phone.

"The powering up and charging of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile phones is prohibited on all our flights," Singapore Airlines said in a statement.

Reuters reported Singapore Airlines is the latest carrier to ban the use of the device on board after the US Federal Aviation Administration issued a guidance against the mobile phone. Three Australian airlines had previously issued the same advisories.
