Take a look at some of Thursday's midday movers:

BP (BP) came off its highs after the oil giant agreed to pay a record $4.5 billion fine to settle with the U.S. government over the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Monster Beverage (MNST) lost ground following news that federal officials have received reports of 13 deaths over the last four years that cited the possible involvement of its rival, 5-Hour Energy drink. Last month, Monster Energy's own energy drink had been linked to some deaths.

Dollar Tree (DLTR) moved higher after the retailer handed in an upbeat outlook.

OSI Systems (OSIS) plummeted following a report its security business is being looked at for falsifying privacy data on its full body scanners to the TSA. The company denied the allegations.

Procter & Gamble (PG) fell after the company said it plans to cut another 2 to 4 percent of its non-manufacturing staff, on top of a continuing 10 percent reduction already announced.

Amarin Corp (AMRN) gained following reports that Teva (TEVA) is the leading candidate to acquire the company.

Children's Place Retail Stores (PLCE) fell after the children's clothing store chain posted sales that missed estimates and also lowered its full-year earnings target.

Cameron (CAM) and Schlumberger (SLB) both rose after the two combined their sub-sea forces. Barclays calls the joint venture a great fit to exploit a growing market.

Hot Topic (HOTT) jumped after the teen-apparel retailer's earnings rose 38 percent on strong sales.

Veeco Instruments (VECO) moved lower after the company said it would delay filing its latest quarterly report.
