German industrial gas giant Linde said on Monday it had won a contract to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Malaysia.
Linde did not reveal the size of the contract from Malaysia's national oil and gas company Petronas for what it described as a "mid-scale" plant but industry sources said it was worth an estimated 200-300 million euros ($259-389 million).
The new facility will produce up to 1,840 tons of LNG per day and will be located in the Bintulu LNG complex in Sarawak, East Malaysia, Linde said.
