Kratos receives contract worth up to $7.92B

Kratos defense and rocket support services division gets contract worth up to $7.92 billion

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- The defense and rocket support services unit of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. has received a five-year contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren. The contract is worth up to $7.92 billion.

"We are very happy with this contract award, as it allows us to continue providing support to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps with our full range of engineering and technical capabilities as a prime contractor," Dave Carter, president of Kratos' DRSS unit, said in a statement.

Task Orders can be issued under the contract by the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Command, Strategic Systems Programs, Office of Naval Research, and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Shares of Kratos added 42 cents, or 5.8 percent, to $7.65 in Monday afternoon trading.
