The satellite operator said it planned to form a joint venture with Nav Canada called Aireon to provide global monitoring of aircraft in areas not covered by radar surveillance systems for air traffic management agencies and commercial airlines. The venture would allow planes to fly over new routes and save fuel, according to Iridium (IRDM). Shares fell 0.3% to 8.91.
