IMM to become S'pore's largest brand outlet mall

by Cheryl Tay

The IMM shopping mall (pictured) in Jurong East will undergo a S$30 million revamp which will turn it into the largest brand outlet mall in the country.

To be carried out over a period of one year, the revamp commenced in May and will be executed in phases to avoid inconvenience to shoppers. From the existing 15 outlet stores, the number of stores in the mall is expected to increase from 40 to 50 after the completion of the renovation.

In addition to its present tenants, which include Picket & Rail, Samsonite, Esprit and Timberland, the mall will welcome new brands such as adidas, City Chain, Converse, Billabong, Premier Football Outlet and ECCO.

Prior to the latest revamp, IMM was last renovated in 2007 at a cost of S$92.5 million.

The mall is located within the Jurong Lake District, which is predicted to be the largest commercial hub outside the Singapore city centre. Other malls in the Jurong area include JCube, CapitaMalls' Westgate and the upcoming Jem.
