Europe's main stock markets climbed at the start of trading on Friday, with Frankfurt's blue-chip DAX index rising above the psychological level of 7,000 points.
The DAX opened at 7,011.37 points, a gain of 15.08 points or 0.21 percent from the closing level on Thursday, after already breaking briefly through the 7,000-point level the day before for the first time since early April.
London's FTSE 100 index gained 0.31 percent to 5,852,62 points and in Paris the CAC 40 won 0.35 percent to 3,492.81 at Friday's open.
European stock markets had closed higher Thursday, spurred by data that showed the US economy was pursuing its slow pace of recovery and amid growing expectations that global central banks were preparing fresh stimulus measures.
