Europe's main stock markets climbed at the start of trading on Wednesday after US President Barack Obama won re-election and as investors looked ahead to a key Greek vote on austerity.
London's FTSE 100 index of top companies gained 0.25 percent to 5,899.47 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 added 0.64 percent to 7,425.08 points and in Paris the CAC 40 grew by 0.95 percent to 3,511.86.
