Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will next week head to the UN Rio+20 conference on sustainable development and also visit Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina, state media said Saturday.
The official Xinhua news agency did not give the order in which he would visit the countries, or the dates he would be in each one.
During the Rio+20 conference, on June 20-22, Wen will give a talk outlining China's approach to sustainable development, Xinuha cited Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Liu Weimin as saying.
Latin America and China have strong commercial ties and Beijing has in recent years been ramping up its investment in the region.
