Teen retailer Buckle says sales at stores open at least a year fell; misses expectations
KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) -- The retailer Buckle reported a surprise 3.1 percent drop in comparable-store sales for May.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had been projecting an increase of 0.3 percent
Sales at stores open at least a year is considered a key indicator of a retailer's financial health because it strips away the volatility of recently opened or closed locations.
The Buckle Inc., which is based in Kearney, sells clothing, accessories and footwear at its 453 stores around the country.
