Buckle Feb. key sales metric tops Street's view
Buckle key sales metric dips in February, but beats analysts' expectations
KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) -- Buckle's sales at stores open at least a year declined 1.4 percent in February, but it beat analyst expectations.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters forecast a 4 percent drop.
This metric is a key gauge of a retailer's health because it excludes the volatility from stores recently opened or closed.
Total revenue for the four week fiscal month ended March 1 edged up 0.2 percent to $89.5 million.
Buckle Inc. said Thursday that it will report its fiscal fourth-quarter and full-year financial results on March 14.
The Kearney, Neb., company currently runs 450 stores in 43 states.
