KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 5): Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd, a mechanical and electrical engineering specialist, has clinched an S$85.85 million (RM214.32 million) project from Samsung C&T Corp to undertake improvement works for the Suntec City Convention Centre in Singapore.
In a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, Bintai Kinden said Samsung which is the main contractor for the project, has appointed Bintai Kinden's 69.82%-owned subsidiary Bintai Kindenko Pte Lt as the sub-contractor the job.
"Risk factors affecting the sub-contract include and not more than the standard and customary contract risks in Singapore," Bintai Kinden said.
Under the letters of acceptance for the sub-contract, Bintai Kinden said it will supply and install mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, sanitary and gas facilities for the building. The job is due for completion by September 30, 2014, according to Bintai Kinden.
The firm said while the project is not anticipated to have any material financial impact on its earnings, net assets and gearing for financial year ending March 31, 2013, it is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of group.
