Avon recalls eyelash curler due to injury risk
Avon recalls nearly 520,000 eyelash curlers due to risk of possible injury
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Avon is recalling nearly 520,000 eyelash curlers sold in the U.S. and Canada due to the risk for eye injury.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday that the ergonomic eyelash curler can break, exposing a metal pin, which could then hurt the user.
Avon Products Inc. has received 24 reports of the eyelash curler breaking, 13 of which include an injury.
Consumers should stop using the product and contact Avon Products for a refund or a mascara as an alternative.
The company is recalling about 478,000 of the curlers in the United States and 41,795 in Canada. These were sold from 2007 to 2014 for about $5. The model number F3093441 can be found on the product's box.
